Our Story

Our quest to create the best traditional garden cloches using Victorian-era tooling

A labour of love

We have long been fascinated with Victorian cloches. There’s something quite special about these beautiful miniature glasshouses and their impactful design, combining both period charm and practicality.

The ability to extend the growing season also creates many more gardening opportunities.

Sadly few intact antique cloches remain, and those that do are oftentimes in conditions beyond repair. So, we started making our own cloches, combining traditional craftsmanship with hardwearing materials. The result? Beautiful cloches that are built to last a lifetime.

We work closely with a foundry, who cast each cloche frame in iron using our designs based on original Victorian-era tooling dating back to 1870. The frames are then galvanised and powder-coated.

Horticultural glass is then cut by hand and glazed, again by hand, into each frame.

Our cloches are sure to bring you a lifetime of gardening joy, and are built to withstand being left outside for many decades with minimal maintenance required.

“We really hope you love and enjoy your cloches, and they bring you great happiness as they have done to us.”
